This weekend I was delighted to travel to Lupridge Gundogs to take promotional shots for the kennel and capture the eleven bundles of cuteness before they head to their new homes. The "B" litter contained 8 black and 3 yellow labrador puppies and they were certainly a handful!
Shooting on both my Canon 7D MKii (with an 18-300mm and the 70-200mm f2.8) and the new mirrorless set up of the Fuji X-T1 ( with a 16mm f1.4), it was a full on three hours! I had some able assistants helping me along the way though!
We even managed to contain the pups for long enough to pose in the Fortnum and Mason's basket!
After the puppies had worn themselves out, we took some care to line the sleepy ones up for a arty shot of the colour combinations.... this took longer than we anticipated, proving working with animals and children takes patience and resilience - but we got there in the end!
Once the pups were settled, it was the turn of the big guns. The older dogs showed off their impeccable manners. A true credit to the hard work and skill of their trainer - Sarah Ross
I wish all the pups well in their new homes and look forward to the next opportunity to work with the dogs of Lupridge Gundogs.
